A vast array of food and drink produced exclusively in the stunning Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) will be available to try and buy at Taste the Chase on Thursday 5 October. Following a highly successful inaugural event last year, the AONB’s food fair returns, this time at The Nadder Centre in Tisbury.

Producers who will be displaying their delicious products include Dorset Blue Vinny, which makes mouth-watering Dorset Blue Vinny Cheese and Dorset Blue Soup at its Woodbridge Farm; Donhead Apple Company (www.donheadapple.com), gold medal winner at the 2017 International Cider Challenge for its English sparkling cider; Cranborne Chase Cider, which makes still farmhouse and bottled fine filtered carbonated ciders; and north Dorset’s Melbury Vale Wines, which not only produces wines and ciders but also hosts afternoon tea at its winery every Saturday. Famous Hedgehog Bakery will be bringing its delicious artisan breads and sweet patisserie ranges, while South Gorley-based Fluffetts Farm will once again be offering its free range eggs for sale. These are laid by poultry kept in small flocks on carefully managed independent family farms.

Taste the Chase brings together quality producers and retailers with members of the public and the trade, such as those in the catering or accommodation sectors. Entry is free for all throughout the day and everyone attending will enjoy celebrating the wonderful produce made in the Cranborne Chase AONB – and they may even bag an early Christmas present or two.

“Taste the Chase really is the best way for producers to show off the wonderful products they make within the Cranborne Chase AONB,” said organiser Rachel Limb. “We already have some wonderful companies lined up to come and I can’t wait to welcome everyone to The Nadder Centre in October for what promises to be a wonderful show.”

Stands are selling fast, but there are still a few available. To find out more, contact the event organiser Rachel Limb, tel: 07976 222260; email rachel@whitesheepprojects.co.uk.
